The Tennessee Titans failed to start a winning streak on Sunday, as Brian Callahan’s squad suffered a 42-19 loss to the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Week 13. The Titans are now 3-9 on the season and have lost three of their last four games.
After an impressive 32-27 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 12, Tennessee had a chance to seize some momentum and win back-to-back games for the first time since November 2022, but the Titans fell flat on the road and have clinched their third consecutive losing season.
It was an all-around atrocious game from Tennessee, as the defense had no answers for the Commanders’ dynamic offense, Brian Callahan’s offense was one-dimensional, and Colt Anderson’s special teams unit continue to look like one of the worst groups in the NFL.
With the Titans’ playoff hopes in the gutter, the franchise’s draft position will be a talking point in the final five games of the year. Entering Week 13, Tennessee held the No.7 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but after the loss to the Commanders and other action around the league on Sunday, the Titans now hold the No.6 overall pick in April’s draft, per Tankathon.
General manager Ran Carthon will have a plethora of talented prospects to choose from this spring. If the Titans want to address its need for a wide receiver, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, and Missouri’s Luther Burden III would be excellent picks. Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter would also be a logical choice, as Carter would be a seamless fit on Tennessee’s defensive line alongside Harold Landry, Jeffery Simmons, and T’Vondre Sweat.
If Carthon wants to replace quarterback Will Levis, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward are the two most talented quarterback prospects in this year’s draft. But Levis has played solid football since returning from a shoulder injury in Week 10, so Tennessee might keep the former Kentucky Wildcat as the starting signal caller next season.
Nevertheless, it’s been an extremely underwhelming 2024 campaign for the Titans, but the franchise currently possesses the No.6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after a blowout loss to the Commanders in Week 13 and will have a chance to bolster its roster in the offseason.
