Raiders 7-round NFL mock draft adds 3 studs on offense, solves quarterback issue

The Las Vegas Raiders have built up some positive momentum this offseason and free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft haven’t even happened yet. 

Fresh off a disastrous 2024 season, the Raiders brought in John Spytek to be the general manager and Pete Carroll to be the head coach. The team also successfully lured Chip Kelly away from Ohio State to be the offensive coordinator and has Tom Brady in place as a minority owner. 

The team is currently projected to have 10 picks in the upcoming draft, so there will be plenty of potential to add quality players. The quarterback position is an obvious need, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team make an aggressive move for a passer in the draft.

Raiders 7-round NFL mock draft

Round 1, Pick 6: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado 

Shedeur Sanders is arguably the most talented quarterback prospect in this class. This class isn’t flush with quarterback talent, though, so there could be fierce competition to land Sanders. 

In this scenario, the Raiders get Sanders without moving up. Sanders would likely welcome being reunited with Tom Brady, who he has had a relationship with since high school.

Sanders is far from a perfect prospect, but he’s accurate to all levels of the field, has an NFL-caliber arm, and has above-average athleticism. Sanders threw for 7,364 yards with 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions over two seasons at Colorado.

The quarterback also set an FBS record for career completion percentage. Sanders would not only excite the Raiders’ fanbase, he would be the team’s best bet at finding a franchise passer. 

Round 2, Pick 37: RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina 

Other than quarterback, the running back position may be the biggest need on this roster. Alexander Mattison led the team in rushing in 2024 with just 420 yards on the season. Mattison and Ameer Abdullah are headed for free agency and Zamir White has failed to prove he can handle being a lead back.

Hampton, meanwhile, has everything NFL teams want in a running back, with elite speed, solid hands, and great vision. Hampton ran for over 1,500 yards in 2023 and 2024. The running back scored 36 rushing touchdowns in his career and also caught 73 passes for 635 yards and four scores. 

Round 3, Pick 68: WR Tez Johnson, Oregon

Sticking with offense, the Raiders could use a wide receiver like Tez Johnson on the roster. Johnson is a shifty slot receiver who’s a capable route-runner and has plenty of big-game experience. 

In 2024, Johnson caught 83 passes for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Oregon Ducks. The wide receiver played 26 games with Oregon and caught 169 passes for 2,080 yards and 20 touchdowns in that span. 

The Raiders have an elite tight end in Brock Bowers and a solid veteran receiver in Jakobi Meyers. Outside of that duo, though, the team has nothing to write home about. 

Round 3, Pick 73: DL Omarr Norman-Lott, Tennessee

Switching to defense, the Raiders need to get better on the defensive line. Veterans Adam Butler and John Jenkins are both headed for free agency, and the team needs to find a solid partner for Christian Wilkins. 

Norman-Lott was a monster for Tennessee in 2024. The defender collected 18 tackles, four tackles for loss, and four sacks. Norman-Lott was one of the best run-stuffing linemen in the SEC and also boasts impressive pass-rush moves on the interior. 

Round 4, Pick 107: S Billy Bowman, Oklahoma 

Sticking on defense, the Raiders need to address the secondary. Trevon Moehrig and Marcus Epps are headed for free agency, meaning the Raiders could need two starting safeties for 2025. 

Bowman is a ball-hawking safety who led the Big 12 in interceptions in 2023 with six. In 2024, when Oklahoma moved to the SEC, Bowman maintained a high level of production, collecting 54 tackles, two interceptions, and three pass deflections. 

Bowman is sometimes over-aggressive in his approach, but he will get his fair share of interceptions and isn’t scared to meet running backs in the gap. 

Round 5, Pick 144: LB Demetrius Knight Jr., South Carolina 

Safety isn’t the only position on defense the team could be losing starters at. Robert Spillane led the defense as the middle linebacker in 2024 and could secure a big deal elsewhere in free agency. 

Demetrius Knight Jr. would be a perfect option to replace Spillane. The linebacker played in 61 games in college and collected 229 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and four interceptions.

The linebacker’s advanced age is why he likely won’t be higher than a mid-round selection. 

Round 6, Pick 182: CB Corey Thornton, Louisville 

Corey Thornton transferred to Louisville for the 2024 season after spending his first four seasons at UCF. The defensive back responded to the better competition by having arguably his best season. 

Thornton racked up 38 tackles, two interceptions, and nine pass deflections for the Cardinals in 2024. The corner has the size to stick on the boundary in the NFL and is physical enough to help out the run defense.

Jack Jones was bad in 2024 and could be a cap casualty, meaning Thornton could immediately land a large role in Vegas. 

Round 6, Pick 214: OT Jalen Travis, Iowa State

Jalen Travis has great size for an NFL tackle, standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing in at 341 pounds. However, the tackle has just one season of starting experience at the FBS level, which will affect his draft stock.

While untested, Travis performed admirably in 2024. The tackle started 12 games for Iowa State and demonstrated solid technique and footwork. Travis profiles as a solid late-round tackle prospect who could step into a larger role in 2026. 

Round 6, Pick 218: DL Patrick Jenkins, Tulane 

Patrick Jenkins played in 41 games over three seasons at Tulane and was remarkably consistent. The defensive lineman racked up 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 2024. 

Jenkins profiles as a solid run-stuffer as well as an occasional helper in the pass rush. Next to Wilkins, Jenkins could develop into a solid starter in Vegas. 

Round 7, Pick 224: EDGE Jah Joyner, Minnesota

The Raiders could use another solid edge presence opposite Maxx Crosby. Jah Joyner is an interesting developmental prospect who flashed special ability in 2024. 

The edge rusher collected 32 tackles, six tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 2024. The defender is undersized for a traditional NFL edge rusher, but isn’t quick enough to be a stand-up outside linebacker.

Still, Joyner has the athleticism and burst off the edge to be a useful rotational piece.
