For Heidi Klum, a haus is not a home without her kids.

That’s why the Project Runway host wants her and ex Seal‘s four children—Leni Klum, 21, Henry Samuel, 20, Johan Samuel, 18, and Lou Samuel, 15—to be immersed in her German culture, bringing them along to her Bavarian celebration HeidiFest in Munich Sept. 18.

“Celebrating a huge party without friends and family would be pretty boring,” she quipped in a German interview with OK! magazine published Sept. 19. “I think something like this is most wonderful when you can celebrate with friends and family, so of course I’m happy that they all came and had fun with me.”

“These are my roots—even if I’m not from Bavaria, I’m still German,” she continued. “I grew up here, too. And in that respect, I think it’s nice for my children to see a bit of my roots.”

To make a big family affair, Heidi and her kids were joined by her husband Tom Kaulitz, brother-in-law Bill Kaulitz and mom Erna Klum. In fact, the supermodel also invited Henry’s girlfriend Kayla Betulius, as well as Leni’s boyfriend Aris Rachevsky.
