Who is in the College World Series finals?

Oklahoma has not won a national championship since 1994, and has only two to its name. Yet in this matchup, it is the bigger historic baseball power. The Sooners have appeared in the College World Series 11 times.

The Sooners swept through the bracket, including a 5-1 win against Texas A&M on Wednesday to advance to College World Series final. Throughout the 2022 tournament, Oklahoma has lost only two games, once to Florida in the regional and once to Virginia Tech in the super regional.

Ole Miss will meet the Sooners in the finals after its run through the second bracket. The Rebels won both matchups to advance through the winner’s bracket before beating Arkansas for a second time to reach the championship round. The Rebels have never appeared in the College World Series final despite having made five previous trips to Omaha.

A team has not won the baseball title with more than 20 losses in the season since Virginia in 2015, but both of this year’s finalists already have surpassed that mark, with Oklahoma entering the best-of-three series at 45-22 and Ole Miss at 43-23.
